A WREXHAM hairdresser who was told she would 'not amount to anything' has celebrated her achievements.
Alice Elizabeth Richards, 25, is a young mobile hairdresser from Wrexham who says she is 'living her dream everyday'.
Alice, who became fully qualified in 2013, has been nominated for a total of 17 awards - of which she has so far won Mobile Hairdresser of the Year 2018 in the Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards and Freelance Hair Artist of the Year in 2019.
She is awaiting the results for seven awards for this year.
Alice told the Leader: "When I was younger I didn't get on very well at school, I wasn't very academic. The teachers used to say I wouldn't amount to anything.

"I wanted to do something worthwhile and it makes me feel better about everything.
"I want to show people that just because you can't succeed something when you're younger, if you put the work in your capable of anything.
"I'm 25 and have been nominated for that many awards it shows that you can do it."
Alice, who covers North Wales and Chester, said she is looking forward to this year's ceremonies which include a mixture of Welsh and British Hair and Beauty Awards.
These include Best Hairdresser 2020, Mobile Hairdresser of the Year 2020, Excellence in Customer Service 2020, Hairstylist of the Year 2020, Self-employed of the Year 2020, Creative Artist of the Year 2020 and Mobile Hairdresser of the Year 2020.
She added: "Good luck to everyone else in the finals.
"If you dream it, you can achieve it."
