This is the moment a caring six-year-old girl comforted an injured footballer and told him ‘I’ll look after you’.
Lucy Gittins – carrying a doll in one arm – put her other arm around Tony Davies after he suffered a rib injury during last weekend’s match in mid Wales.
The youngster had ran on to the pitch when Tony was hurt in the game between Rhayader Town and Forden United.
Afterwards, the Rhayader player heaped praise on affectionate Lucy for her kindness.
“I was surprised when she came up and put her arm around me, asked me if I was okay and that she’ll look after me,” said Tony.
“Bless her, she certainly put a smile on my face.”
Lucy’s sister Katie Howells said: “Lucy had gone to stand near to the goal because Forden were taking a penalty.
“The Rhayader player was down injured after the penalty so she ran onto the pitch and helped him off.”
The lovely picture was taken by photographer Ian Francis.
