TWO COMPANIES have relocated their headquarters to Chirk.
Richard Burbidge and Atkinson & Kirby have relocated head offices to Chirk’s Canal Wood Industrial Estate, joining the companies’ existing onsite manufacturing and distribution facility.
Richard Burbidge is a major manufacturer and supplier of stair parts, decking accessories and decorative mouldings - with products stocked nationwide in Homebase, Jewson, Screwfix, Travis Perkins and B&Q, as well as thousands of independent stockists nationwide.
Its sister company, Atkinson & Kirby, is a leader in hardwood flooring, supplying floors for a variety of projects including residential, hospitality and retail.
Notable projects include Whitworth Locke in Manchester and Perth Theatre in Scotland.
As part of the ongoing development for both companies, the office headquarters have been relocated from Oswestry and Chester, to Chirk.
The Chirk site forms part of the extensive business history of both companies, since it was initially acquired in 1986.
The move aims to improve both the service and quality of products for both companies by having all 146 staff in one location, unifying working relationships between all departments, from marketing to distribution, as well as hoping to improve efficiency, customer service and delivery.
CEO, Tony Miles, said: “The consolidation of all headquarters to Chirk is a big move and demonstrates just how serious we are about British manufacturing and sustainability.
“We are a family business and above all, excellent quality and customer service are our priority. The move is already proving successful, with a unified workforce, improved communication and efficiency.
“2020 is a big year for both companies, with increased marketing and production. Richard Burbidge is proving itself as a leading manufacturer of stair parts, decking accessories and decorative mouldings, and this year will see further products being stocked in B&Q stores nationwide.”
