THE Great Orme has been selected as the site for a series of grisly experiments.
The Llandudno landmark will star in upcoming British horror flick Inmate Zero, directed by former John Bright pupil Russell Thomas Owen.
Mr Owen, 38, and now living in London, shared a still from the zombie film - which is marketed as Patients of a Saint for US audiences - to Facebook group The Great Orme of a CGI prison superimposed on top of gun battery site on the headland’s West side.

Mr Owen said: “I live in London now but grew up in Llandudno, so any opportunity to go home and work, even for a couple of days, is great.”
Since graduating from the University of Creative Arts in Kent, Mr Owen has gone from working as the producer’s assistant on An American Haunting starring Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek to directing his first, award winning feature Welcome To The Majority in 2011.
Mr Owen will revisit the location for his second feature of 2020 - his third in total - the horror Shepherd, which is due to preview at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
Mr Owen added: “Fortunately both Inmate Zero and Shepherd are films that require a location like the Orme in certain scenes. In ‘Inmate Zero’ the Orme and Criccieth make up ‘Saint Leonard’s Island’, a remote fictional island in the middle of the North Atlantic that is home to Saint Leonard’s detention and medical facility.
“In Shepherd, the Orme will play host to a car crash sequence, where the bulk of that film was shot last year on the Isle of Mull in Scotland and in Glasgow at BBC Dumbarton studios.”
On location shooting for the prison took place at HM Prison Shepton Mallet in Somerset.
The film is due for release in the UK on Friday, January 31.
