A NORTH WALES Reindeer Lodge has been named as a budget UK alternative to the world-famous Lapland in northern Finland.
With the price of flights and accommodation to the favourite wintertime holiday destination reaching upwards of £1,000 per person, Regatta have named the Reindeer Lodge on Black Meadows Farm in Leeswood, Mold, as the best cheaper local option.
Prices at the Flintshire-based reindeer lodge range between £12.50 and £18.95 depending on your age and the date of your visit, while under 1s can go in free.
A spokesperson from Regatta said “North Wales is such a picturesque place and we really wanted to feature an exciting Christmas activity that would not only be a magical experience, but also an affordable one that can really bring the spirit of Christmas alive.
“The reindeer lodge in Leeswood stood out to us as it offers people the chance to meet Father Christmas and his reindeer, watch the elves in a stage show and enjoy plenty of other attractions and festivities all whilst being set amongst the beautiful Welsh Border countryside.”
The 50-acre site is open until Christmas Eve, and offers visitors the chance to see their German Christmas market, as well as a meet and greet with Santa Claus, a ‘Northern Lights’ experience, and a trip on the polar express train.
Regatta have chosen the Reindeer Lodge in Mold as a cheaper UK alternative to Lapland as part of their ‘Home or Away’ campaign which offers people an interactive map with the best UK rival Christmas getaway destinations.
Their list also recommends Whipsiderry Beach in Cornwall as an ideal location for wintersurfing, Hyde Park for its Winter Wonderland experience, and the Christmas Markets in Bath.
