A PROFESSIONAL golfer from Wrexham is on course for success after support from one of the UK’s largest British housebuilders.
Chloe Williams, 24, has received a further £2,000 sponsorship from the Redrow company, as she completes the third season of her career since giving up her amateur status.
This further sponsorship brings Redrow’s total commitment to £4,000.
Ms Williams, who played for Wales before turning pro, said: “It’s the hardest thing in the world to find people who can back you.
“Redrow has been behind me from the beginning and I will be forever grateful to them.
“Without their help and support I would not have been able to fulfil my ambition to make golf my career.”
Golfer Chloe, admitted that it is an expensive sport to pursue, as she needed financial help towards competition fees, flights, accommodation and living costs.
She added: “I am not from a wealthy background.
“The sponsorship and support from Redrow has been incredible.
“I’ve always dreamed of playing in the Women’s British Open and if I do, I’d love to invite people from the company to the event.
“Not only would it be great for me, it would be a way of giving something back and saying thank you for all they have done.”
Thanks to her hard work and determination, Ms Williams is seeing the rewards of her efforts as she prepares for her fourth season, which will begin in January 2020.
This year has seen her finish in the top five on the Order of Merit having achieved top five places in five tournaments of the Ladies European Access Tour - and finally being recognised as ‘a threat’ by some of the world’s top players.
The wins and her place on the Order of Merit (the official golf ranking system) allow her to compete now in some of the major tournaments across Europe and as far afield as the United Arab Emirates, Australia and New Zealand, including the Evian Championship in France and the Women’s British Open.
