Two Wrexham coffee shops have been included in an acclaimed guide.
Bank Street Social and King Street Coffee Company in the heart of Wrexham have made it into this year's ‘Independent Coffee Guide’ - the insiders' guide to speciality coffee shops and roasters.
The guide highlights the top industry recommended coffee shops and roasteries across north and midlands parts of the UK - and it is currently in it’s fifth year.
Entry into the guide is handpicked by leading coffee experts to help users discover game-changing indie coffee shops from Bangor to Newcastle.
Andy Gallanders from Bank Street Social said: "It might sound daft but it feels like Christmas has come early. It’s a huge honor to be included in this guide.
"We have worked incredibly hard to be able to achieve this accolade. To finally be able join King Street Coffee Company is great."
What makes this more special is there are only seven that qualified in North Wales - two of which are in Wrexham.
Bank Street Social joins King Street Coffee Company, located in Wrexham bus station, which is celebrating its third consecutive year inclusion to the guide.
Amazingly - two of the staff members from the two rival coffee shops are brothers.
Andy added: "Phil from King Street Coffee is not only a competitor but also my brother so the family rivalry between us has spurred me on to achieve my shop's entry."
Phil Gallanders said: “It’s great to still be considered for the guide again, I’ve used previous guides myself and over the years we have even had customers visit Wrexham just to try our coffee.
"It’s nice to know that we are bringing in a little bit of publicity to our town."
Joe Bickerton, destination manager at Wrexham Council, said: “Both Bank Street Social and King Street Coffee have raised the bar over the last couple of years as regards delivering both great artisan coffee, contributing to community life and the visitor welcome within Wrexham.
"Inclusion into the Independent Coffee Guide is not only a stamp of approval for the shops but raises further awareness of Wrexham as a food and drink destination.”
