PUPILS of a primary school in Wrexham have spoken out against racism in a PowerPoint which they showed high-ranking police officers.
Students from Alexandra C.P School have become North Wales Police’s first ‘Mini Police’ group, and on Thursday, October 24, they delivered their PowerPoint presentation in Wrexham Library as part of Black History Month.
Those in attendance included the Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales Police Arfon Jones, Deputy Chief Constable Richard Debicki and the High Sheriff of Clwyd Stephanie Catherall.
Deputy Chief Constable Richard Debicki said: “Well done to the Mini Police because that was really, really good. The way you delivered the message with a fun twist, but a very serious message was absolutely fantastic, and I’ve no doubt that you’ve had an impact on the youngsters in your school.
“The fact that you’ve researched that and put it onto a really good presentation and delivered it yourselves makes it a lot more powerful.
“The issues you were talking about there, about history, hate crime and show racism the red card are massively important, and you know that, recognise that and that was really clear.
“Whether it’s racism in football stadiums, which sadly we’ve seen, or racism and hate crime on our streets, it is completely unacceptable and that’s the message that we need to send out.
