STUDENTS from Bishop Heber High School have been learning about the world of politics after receiving a visit from an MP.
Ian Lucas, MP for Wrexham paid a visit to history and politics students at the schools sixth form to speak about life in politics and to answer students questions.
Students quizzed the Wrexham MP on various subjects including the current political climate, Brexit and general questions related to Parliament.
Subject leader for history at Bishop Heber, Joe Penlington, said the students enjoyed having the chance to quiz an MP on the issues of the day.
"We welcomed Ian Lucas MP, the labour MP for Wrexham back into the Heber to meet sixth form history and politics students," said Joe.
"A really interesting question and answer session on current political issues took place, and inevitably Brexit came up a bit!
"History students were also able to ask Ian about his thoughts on areas of the course he was in Parliament for, such as laws that have arisen since the days of New Labour.
"We thank Ian for taking the time to come in and see us at us at such a busy time, one day before the historic ‘Super Saturday vote in Parliament."
Meanwhile Ian Lucas added: "I enjoyed visiting Bishop Heber High School and speaking to the students there.
"We had an interesting discussion about politics and what it is like to be an MP.
"I hope the students found it useful and I'd like to thank the staff and pupils for making me so welcome."
