A FLINTSHIRE resident believes her husband's life is at stake over the issue of parked cars blocking their driveway.
Annie Jones, who lives on Alexandra Road in Mold, told the Leader motorists are ignoring signs on her house that stipulate the driveway needs to be clear 24-hours-a-day.
This is because her husband, Bryan, has severe disability and various health issues which require them to make frequent - and vital - trips to hospital and the doctor's.
Bryan has been left wheelchair dependant due to a spinal injury and suffers from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
But the couple's ability to make the regular medical trips that are needed is hindered by parked cars, mainly belonging to parents of children attending nearby Ysgol Bryn Coch, continually blocking their driveway and taking parking spots along the street.
Annie said: "I couldn't even park across the road this morning, and I even if I did it's impossible for my husband to manage.
"I've been living here for 27 years and this has been happening for as long as I can remember.
"We even had one man whose car we told him to move who at first said he was a police officer then threatened to punch my husband when we said we'd confirmed with the police that he wasn't."
"With the number of trips to hospital he has for his MRI scans on his spine and various doctor's appointments, this issue is not just an inconvenience, but could be life threatening."
Annie says the issue is not only bad at the start and end of the school day, with parents parking there when picking up their children from after school clubs and sporting events.
She added: "Whenever there's a football match on or after school activity, people park there - and often do so up to 6pm.
"Some people park on our road and then go off and do their shopping for three hours, it's a one-way street and we've had cars coming up it the wrong way.
Annie says the school issue letters about the issue every term.
Flintshire Council’s Chief Officer for Streetscene and Transportation, Steve Jones, said: “Consultation has taken place with residents and an order published to implement a residential parking scheme at Alexandra Road in Mold, which will be implemented in October 2019.”
