VILLAGE Bakery bosses say ‘there is no time for us to feel sorry for ourselves’ as work begins to recover from the major fire that tore through much of the Wrexham-based unit yesterday.
Firefighters remain at the Industrial Estate almost 24 hours since the blaze was first reported where significant damage has been caused to the building.
Managing director Robin Jones has been overwhelmed by the huge amount of support we have received from customers near and far.

He said: “It has been humbling for us to realise the high regard in which we are held by so many people. It has been particularly heart-warming to see the lovely supportive messages from staff, past and present, posted on social media as well as the support from our customers and suppliers.
“There is no time for us to feel sorry for ourselves and hard work to restore lost capacity starts today.
“I once again want to pay tribute to the wonderful team here who are totally committed to ensuring we overcome this blow.
“We are proud of what we have achieved over the years in building the reputation of the Village Bakery as a family-run firm with a mission to make the best quality products, using our skills as craft bakers and investing in the latest in technology.
“These principles will undoubtedly stand us in good stead as we strive to get back on track as soon as possible.”
Officers remain at the scene and a cause has yet to be established.
