FIREFIGHTERS remain at the scene of the inferno which tore through a Wrexham bakery - over 24 hours since it was first reported.
A spokesman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service told the Leader at 8am this morning that four appliances and two aerial ladder platforms remain on at the scene at the Village Bakery unit on Wrexham Industrial Estate.
An update at around 2pm states that: "Two appliances, the aerial ladder platform and the environmental protection unit are still in attendance at the incident in Wrexham Industrial Estate - they are damping down and will remain at the incident for the next few hours."
Managing director Robin Jones has described Monday's events as 'a very difficult day in the history of Village Bakery'.

He confirmed that the fire has caused 'severe damage' to the bakery at the Wrexham Industrial Estate site.
Mr Jones said: “I would like to thank our staff for the brilliant way they have responded to the challenges posed by the fire which has severely damaged one of our bakeries in Wrexham.
"Everybody is pulling together to ensure we can rearrange our production at our three other bakeries in order to minimise disruption to our valued customers.
"This is a very difficult day in the history of the Village Bakery, but we will bounce back and be stronger than ever thanks to the fantastic team working here."
The cause of the fire remains under investigations.
