A HOME care company has celebrated its achievements after being awarded a top regional award.

Home Instead Senior Care, based in Wrexham and Flintshire East, specialises in providing at-home care to older people, and has been named as one of the 20 most recommended providers in the Home Care Awards 2019.

Matthew Murray-James, owner of Home Instead Senior Care, said: "This is really wonderful news. Our clients are the most important thing to us, and it is so nice to hear that they and their family and friends are saying such great things about what we do.

"Our team of caregivers do a fantastic job serving our clients every single day and the majority of them are currently working towards their Level 2 QCF Health and Social Care qualification.

"This is a tribute to their dedication and hard work and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to recommend us."

The care home website has a top spot on Trip Adviser, which lists all registered UK home-care providers and publishes verified pieces of independent feedback, submitted by the public.

Over 10,000 people post reviews to the site each year and this is the third year in a row that Home Instead Senior Care has placed in a top spot.

Matthew added: "Many of our caregivers join the team because they want to make a positive difference in their communities.

"They join us with an empathetic nature and passion for the role, which are prized above previous experience."

The reviews covered multiple areas, including staff, care/support, management, ‘treated with dignity’, value for money and overall standard. Across the board, reviewers displayed high levels of confidence in the company and it achieved an enviable overall rating of 9.7 out of 10.

One of the reviews of Home Instead reads: "We are so delighted with Home Instead. My mother really did not want to have a carer call on her but from the moment she arrived, Mum was taken by her.

"She knows exactly how far to go in helping my fiercely independent 95 year old mum and understands the importance of building a relationship of growing trust. From worrying about the prospect of a stranger fussing her, Mum has gone to looking forward to her every visit."

Managers of Home Instead say it takes a unique, person-centred approach to home care, which benefits both clients and the team. Clients are supported to live as independently as possible, by caregivers that they come to know well and who visit for a minimum of an hour at a time.

Amanda Hopkins, reviews manager of homecare.co.uk, said: "Good quality home care is essential as it enables people to stay living in their own homes and retain their independence, with their home care worker often becoming their friend and companion as well as their lifeline to the outside world.

"Home Instead Senior Care Wrexham and Flintshire East has shown that it provides high-quality care and we would like to congratulate it on being one of the top home care providers in Wales."
