CONSTRUCTION of a new £7 million Flintshire school has been completed.
Wynne Construction has recently completed the new build Ysgol Penyffordd, located on Abbotts Lane in the village.
It will accommodate 315 pupils with 45 nursery pupils who will benefit from the latest facilities and resources, including modern and well-equipped classrooms and outdoor areas for play and learning.
The project has been part funded by the Welsh Government through the 21st Century Schools Programme.

Chris Wynne, managing director at Wynne Construction, said: "We are very pleased to have completed the Ysgol Penyffordd scheme on time and ready for the new academic term in September 2019.
"The team and our local supply chain and partners have worked extremely well, given the constraints of the site and the consideration of the local residents and community.

"We aim to complete the car parking area and drop off zone in the next few weeks. It has been a pleasure to work with Flintshire County Council, the school and the local community to deliver this inspirational learning environment for the children of Penyffordd.”
Councillor Ian Roberts, Flintshire Council’s cabinet member for education and youth, said: "This is another milestone in the provision of the 21st Century Schools programme in Flintshire.
"This investment of almost £7 million will provide a wonderful modern facility for children, young people and the wider community and will provide a new inspirational learning experience for primary school children.”
The site's former infant school has been demolished and will become the site for the new car park and drop off zone.
