DRONES and helicopters have been deployed to assist police in the search for a missing Penyffordd man.
Concerns were raised in the early hours of Friday morning (May 24) and North Wales Police appealed to the public to check their gardens and outbuildings for a missing pensioner Colin Purton.

An updated social media post informed locals not be alamred by the presence of helicopters and drones in the area as the search continues.
As not to alarm local residents of the #PENYFFORDD area, there will be drone activity as well as presence from NPAS and NEWSAR helicopters above the surrounding areas

The National Police Air Service and North East Wales Search and Rescue were also called on this afternoon, according to the update.
The 78-year-old has been described as having a slim frail build with short white hair.
The appeal also states that the elderly gentleman wears a flat cap and uses a walking stick.
