A GRANDMOTHER is ecstatic after being presented with a certificate highlighting her fundraising achievements.
Enid Waterfall, 83, from Holt, has raised nearly £25,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust since 2015, with added impetus following the death of her grandson in 2018.
Last week Enid was given her certificate by Miriam Goodall from Teenage Cancer Trust, in a surprise presentation at her home.
Miriam Goodall from the Teenage Cancer Trust said: "Enid is a committed, valued and much-loved supporter of Teenage Cancer Trust.
"She single handedly raised more than £24,200 for Teenage Cancer Trust since 2015 across Wrexham and Chester.
"Enid has been inspired to fundraise for us after her grandson Richard died from Ewing’s Sarcoma in February 2018.
"She has engaged with her local community, including her local church, local schools and guide groups to promote the charity and to recruit volunteers to support her fundraising.
"Enid also volunteered herself as a case study to Teenage Cancer Trust, which in turn, contributed to us winning a three-year fundraising partnership with a large corporate company in Wales.
"Enid's boundless energy selfless approach and incredible fundraising efforts have been an inspiration to everyone that meets her, as is her dedication and passion for our cause.
Enid's daughter Amelia Lloyd said: "Without Enid’s husband Norman she would not be able to do what she does. All of Enid’s family and friends are so proud of her, she is an inspiration."
Reacting to the tributes Enid said: “I did what I did with the help of her family and many good friends.
"Thanks must go to the many people who collect, sell etc and help me with all the events."
