A FLINTSHIRE teenage dance sensation has received national recognition.
Oliver Davies, 15, from Flint has won ‘Best Solo’ for entries for Wales’ Dance World Cup team, despite having only been dancing for under two years.
In order to get through to the finals of the World Cup, all schools have to send off video entries for their nominees that are judged by a panel of industry experts. The successful dancers then proceed to the finals.
Oliver, of Elite Studios of Dance in Mynydd Isa, has won this prestigious title for his Solo Jazz Routine. This is having been considered by the judges to be the best Solo dance from all the entries in Wales and out of hundreds of dances.
Emma Knox, owner of Elite Studios, said: “This is a real honour for our school as the judges have seen the huge potential in Oliver that we have always been able to see.
“He is a unique talent and is sure to do his very best at the finals.”
It will be Oliver's first time at the Dance World Cup as he has only been dancing since September 2017, so this award really is a huge achievement and gives him the best possible chance to win a medal at the finals in Portugal.
The Dance World cup will take place this summer in the Portuguese city of Braga
