A TOWN is eager to get into the festive spirit at their Christmas light switch-on event tomorrow evening.
Margaret Williams, founder of North Wales Superkids, who has an MBE for her charitable work, will be switching on Flint town’s Christmas lights at 6pm tomorrow on Church Street.
The festive proceedings will kick off at 4pm outside the George and Dragon pub, and pub landlady Lynda Leigh, who has been working alongside the town council for this event, has promised plenty of “mulled wine and festive cheer.”
Superkids is a Christmas appeal which collects and receives donations of brand new toys, which are then distributed in the run up to Christmas to children from families living on the breadline, or who are facing social hardship in any form.
Last year, hundreds gathered to the town centre to enjoy the stalls and Margaret aims to see another healthy crowd this year.
