TWO men have been conveyed to Wrexham Maelor Hospital following a two vehicle collision earlier today.
Emergency services were called to a 'serious' two-vehicle collision on the A5 at Chirk.
A spokesman said that the two males were taken for treatment at Wrexham Maelor and their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
Ambulance crews, firefighters, and police officers have been dealing with the incident since shortly before 4pm, and traffic is still delayed both ways near Froncysyllte, as both lanes have been closed.
The accident occured in Pentre, a village on the outskirts of Chirk, near the turning for Newbridge on the A5 road to and from Llangollen/ Halton.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said: "We had a call at 15.53 to a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A5 at Pentre."
Traffic Wales has deemed that the collision is "serious" and has warned motorists that diversions are in place to avoid queuing traffic.

A spokesman for North Wales Fire and Rescue confirmed that two fire engines were at the scene of the crash, and traffic still remains disrupted.
