We are a nation of animal lovers, and here, we bring you some readers' furry family members and some looking for a new home.

Following on from Walk Your Dog Month, Leader readers shared photos of the pets in their lives with us, and we would love to see more of your animal family members.

Maybe you have a rescue pet that has made a difference in both your lives.

Do you have an animal that has an unusual habit or skill?

From the exotic and unusual, feathers, fur, scales or shell, regardless of leg count, whether it's a funny photo, story or event, we want to hear from you.

You can get in touch here or email your pictures or stories to claire.pierce@newsquest.co.uk

If you are looking to take on a pet, consider adoption.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR) have cats, dogs and some smaller animals, all hoping to find their forever home.

The staff and volunteers at the Trelogan-based charity, in Flintshire, know the animals as individuals, and therefore know what kind of home they are more likely to thrive in.

Whether it's a dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig, staff are on hand to advise on the character and suitability of each.

They also make sure potential new owners are aware of the ongoing costs of a pet, including food and vet bills, which can often be for unexpected treatment.

Here we meet just some of those at NCAR looking for a new home...

• For more details, please visit ncar.org.uk or if you would like to support the charity without adopting, you can visit their cafe, open from 10.30am to 3.30pm. They also accept donations at the centre between 10am and 4pm.

You can also help by fundraising, sponsoring a kennel or supporting one of the NCAR charity shops in the region.

Hoover, at NCAR.

Hoover, at NCAR.

• Hoover is a very handsome black and white male cat approximately 18-months-old. Hoover came into the rescue after being found as a stray. NCAR are looking for an adult only home for him as although he is timid until he knows you, once he has settled his play can be a little rough. He needs to be the only pet in the house. He would like a garden to explore in a quiet area roadwise.

Lacey, at NCAR.

Lacey, at NCAR.

• One-year-old Lacey is a really sweet girl who was brought to the rescue from the pound after being found as a stray. She just loves a cuddle and once she trusts you, gives you the best cuddles. She had an injury where another dog bit her foot before arrival but she is still keen to interact with other dogs - although her confidence has been knocked. She can be nervous and growly with new people, particularly in the dark, however, she quickly comes around with confident handling and calm introductions, and it doesn’t take much to become her friend. She needs a calm and quiet home, in a quiet area where she can be gradually introduced to new situations. NCAR don’t know anything about her history, so are looking for a home without children.

Spud, at NCAR.

Spud, at NCAR.

• Spud is a gorgeous 10-year-old black male cat. Spud was at NCAR originally as a kitten and has come back due to him asking his older owner to go outside at night as he had no access himself. He is a friendly lad who likes attention and will sit on your lap at night. He would like an adult home as he is not used to children and would like to be the only pet in the house. Spud likes to go looking for mice in the summer but is more of a couch potato in winter. He therefore would like a garden in a safe area with no busy or fast roads around.

Aries, at NCAR.

Aries, at NCAR.

• Aries is a one-year-old husky cross American bulldog who was brought into the rescue as a stray, although he was on our waiting list to come in and the 'finders' knew his name. NCAR have a little bit of history on him and know this poor lad has been passed around. It is obvious he has missed out on some vital training and socialisation but is progressing well. He absolutely loves people and is very affectionate! He can be strong on lead, so does need further training in this area. NCAR are looking for an active home for Aries, with people who are keen to get him out and about. He can be unsure of how to interact with other dogs but NCAR are working on this with him and he has met quite a few dogs here at the rescue with no issues. He is looking to be the only pet in the home as the previous home had other dogs that he wasn’t getting on with. He can be rehomed with sensible teenagers. Aries will thrive in a home where he is given lots of physical exercise as well as mental stimulation.
