The team at a North Wales animal rescue centre is looking for new homes for their furry residents.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR) have cats, dogs and some smaller animals, all hoping to find their forever home.

The staff and volunteers at the Trelogan-based charity, in Flintshire, know the animals as individuals, and therefore know what kind of home they are more likely to thrive in.

Whether it's a dog, cat, rabbit or guinea pig, staff are on hand to advise on the character and suitability of each.

They also make sure potential new owners are aware of the ongoing costs of a pet, including food and vet bills, which can often be for unexpected treatment.

But thankfully there are plenty of responsible, loving people and families looking to give an animal a loving new home.

And there are always animals of all types, ages and needs that will be the perfect match.

Here we meet just some of those at NCAR looking for a new home...

• For more details, please visit ncar.org.uk or if you would like to support the charity without adopting, you can visit their cafe, open from 10.30am to 3.30pm. They also accept donations at the centre between 10am and 4pm.

You can also help by fundraising, sponsoring a kennel or supporting one of the NCAR charity shops in the region.

Quigley at NCAR.

Quigley at NCAR.

Quigley is a really lovely six-year-old lad signed over as his owners had been evicted and couldn’t take him with them. He is a friendly boy who has come a long way whilst he has been in NCAR's care and he is looking for new owners who can continue his training. He did originally come in with another dog but his previous owner advised us that Quigley would bully him at times. He can also be quite reactive to other dogs when out and about, so he is looking to be the only pet in his next home. Quigley loves to play ball, and will bring it back for you to throw it again. He is an extremely clever boy who loves to learn, so will need a home where he is just as mentally stimulated as he is physically exercised. Quigley can be an escape artist whenever he seeks the opportunity to be, he will need a very secure garden.

Arthur and Albert at NCAR.

Albert and Arthur are 11-week-old kittens that are looking for a home either together or separately. They could go to homes with teenagers as so far they have not been used to children. They would like a garden to explore in a safe area away from busy roads. They could go to a home with other cats or dogs but introductions must be done slowly. It is important that time is spent socialising the kittens.

Junior at NCAR.

Junior is a stunning bull mastiff cross who arrived at the rescue as he wasn’t settling with a new baby. Due to this and his size, NCAR are looking for a home with sensible teenagers aged 14+ who are used to larger breeds. He is a very sweet boy and loves meeting people. Junior bonds quite quickly to people and so can be quite excitable and bouncy once he knows you. Nine-year-old is looking for a home where he can be the only pet as he doesn’t get on with other dogs due to previous bad experiences. He is not keen on traffic either - so a home in a quieter area where he can relax and feel safe. He loves the paddock having a good run around so would love a nice sized garden to play in and especially enjoys sitting next to you for a cuddle and lots of treats. He really is a super cuddly and fun boy.

• Kitty is a pretty tabby and white female aged four years, who has come to the rescue after a member of the family developed an allergy. She is a really affectionate lass who would like a home where she receives plenty of attention. She can be homed with teenagers. She would like a garden to venture out in to as one of her hobbies is a spot of hunting in nice weather.

Maggie at NCAR.

Maggie is a sweet girl who was brought to the rescue through no fault of her own. She is a super friendly girl who loves everyone she has met so far. She has also been introduced to several dogs and is quite confident with them, and also lived with another dog, so she could live in a multi dog household. She is completely house trained and is fairly clean in her kennel, and also generally walks nicely on the lead. She has lived with children of all ages with no issues. This two-year-old will require a lot of daily exercise and stimulation to keep her happy.

Samba at NCAR.

Samba is nine-months-old and came into NCAR's care due to no fault of her own. She is a sweet girl who likes attention but this can sometimes be on her terms. She is very playful and loves playing with toys. Prior to coming in Samba has been kept indoors only but may have potential to adapt to going outdoors if she lived in a quiet area. She is looking to be the only pet in her next home and is looking to live with teenagers over 14 years who will respect her space when she wants it.
