IT really was a super Sunday to conclude the cricket campaign in North Wales.

Bersham Thirds and Brymbo Thirds finish tied on 194 points atop the Sunday East Division.

Brymbo have been the leaders all through the season, but their final contest resulted in a 15-run loss at the hands of Buckley Thirds.

Meanwhile, Bersham got the better of Corwen by eight wickets to move themselves top of the standings.

There was a thriller as Hawarden Park Fourths pipped Mold Thirds by one wicket.

Liam Roberts (59) was the chief contributor in Mold’s 114 (Jamie Leek 4-19) and Jonathan Marum’s knock of 59 was crucial in Park’s 115 for nine.

Thomas Doggett (52), Ben Arden (41), Sion Hellen (3-2) and Robbie Edwards (3-3) starred in Northop Hall Fourths’ 133-run success versus Pontblyddyn (Ethan Roberts 3-15) and Northop Thirds claimed a 70-run success at Connah’s Quay Thirds.

Charley Greig (94no) and Will Baker (51no) helped Northop to 199 for one and Quay replied with 129 for seven (Jake Chare 36).

Plaudits must go to the bowlers as Hawarden Park Seconds and Pontblyddyn Seconds concluded their Saturday Division Two campaigns with victories.

Park got the better of Buckley Seconds by seven wickets after dismissing their visitors for 41. Tom Wilson finished up with a superb 5-3 haul from 5.5 overs and Haseeb Hanif Bikya took 2-7.

Oliver Tyndall’s unbeaten 21 helped Hawarden Park to a winning 42 for three.

Pontblyddyn’s decision to bowl first after winning the toss paid off as Llanrwst were dismissed for 96.

Osian Jones bagged 3-5 in six overs and there were a couple of wickets apiece for Dylan Pearn and Ryan White.

Dave Evans (37 not out) and Nick Thomas (31 not out) made sure Pontblyddyn’s chase was a straight-forward one as they reached 100 for two.

Champions Brymbo Seconds finished the Division Two season unbeaten as their encounter at Mochdre Seconds was abandoned.

In further action, Bersham secured a comfortable 148-run triumph over Mold Seconds.

Pictured above left, Maneesha Ayomal Nissanka (56) and opener Suresh Lakmal Koswaththage (44) led the way in Bersham’s 210 for seven (George Godwin 3-22) and Mold’s reply was ended on 62.

Carmel & District’s final innings of the summer reached 123 for eight (Danny Owens 52, Harry Morris 3-13).

This managed to be enough for victory, as Gresford Seconds’ response was 102 (James Griffin 30, Owens 3-12, Oliver Saynor 3-13).
