GWERSYLLT PARK have one hand on the Division One title and promotion to the Premier Division after hammering Hawarden Park by nine wickets in their top-two battle.

Hosts Hawarden were skittled for 109 after electing to bat with Dan Jones (4-26) impressive with the ball.

Captain Iroshan De Silva landed another two wickets before finishing on 45 not out after a 54-run opening partnership with Ethan McCarthy (34).

Gwersyllt are now 41 points clear of third-placed Northop Seconds.

Fourth-placed Conwy beat Connah’s Quay, who were bowled our for just 36, by four wickets while bottom club Marchwiel and Wrexham didn’t manage many more at Abergele where they were dismissed for 81 in a nine-wicket hammering.

Llay Welfare look favourites to join them in Division Two next season after fellow relegation rivals Buckley beat them by three wickets.

Llay posted 122 for nine as Adam Shaw landed 5-25 before Alex Storey’s unbeaten 37 led Buckley to victory.

A maximum effort has strengthened Northop’s push for this season’s Premier Division crown.

The league leaders claimed a 105-run outcome in their home clash with Gresford and Northop’s lead at the top is now 11 points.

Northop’s 50 overs yielded 251 for five. Jordan Evans struck 91 from just 79 deliveries, while James Roberts contributed 69.

Although Chris Ellwood struck 39, Gresford’s response was halted on 146 (Charlie Collins 4-13).

Title-chasing Brymbo were edged out by just nine runs at Menai Bridge, who were dismissed for 200 (Gethin Roberts 78, Jack Whitley 3-34, Dan Parry 2-9).

Chris Taylor (30) top scored as Brymbo’s effort just came up short on 191.

Pontblyddyn were pipped by two runs at home to Mochdre. Renacko Belgrave snapped up three for 37 as Mochdre were all out for 154.

Despite fine efforts from Rocco Franco (61) and Tom Dawson (58), the home side lost their last three wickets for one run as they were dismissed for 152 (Matt Humphreys 4-17).

Mold suffered a 124-run reverse at Denbigh, who set 222 for nine (Archie Sussex 69, Kieran Gilly 63, Munowar Samsodien 3-41).

John Williams (27) then top scored in Mold’s 98 (Joe Lewis 4-19).

Halkyn remain just outside the relegation zone on the back of an eight-wicket defeat at second-placed St Asaph, who eased to 113 for two (Duncan Midgley 54).

This arrived after Halkyn’s 112 all out (Nathan Lavender 37, Ryan Dunning 4-12).

Llandudno boosted their survival hopes with a nine-run win at Bangor.
