A WREXHAM coffee shop has received praise from the council after becoming a customer favourite - so we put it to the test.

Heaven Coffee Shop on Lord Street has become very popular with visitors to Wrexham since Adam and Malgorzata Bury took over the shop in 2018.

Since opening, they have expanded their range of services with cooked breakfasts, lunches and desserts and in 2021 they also took over the lease of the shop next door to give Heaven more space.

Heaven Coffee is extremely popular within the community with regular customers and has become a stop for many of those visiting the city centre.

The Leader:

Visiting on a Tuesday lunchtime, it was great to see many other customers with the same idea.

The warm and inviting interior creates a wholesome and welcoming environment which I definitely appreciated on a cold and rainy day.

I chose a spot near the window, the perfect place to people-watch before choosing a vanilla latte off the menu which offers every coffee and tea you could ever want.

The coffee shop seems to have perfected the home comfort dishes so well, it made it difficult to choose what to go for. From jacket potatoes to full-cooked breakfasts and paninis to sweet and savoury crepes, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

I chose the tuna jacket potato and was not disappointed when it arrived with a heaped topping served alongside a salad.

The meal tasted incredibly fresh and was the perfect comfort food served on a rainy day.

The latte was also served hot and sweet, leaving me tempted to order another. Instead, I decided to try their recommended homemade scone.

I was pleasantly surprised by the menu's variety and just how affordable the options are. With 'meal deals', all-day breakfast items and vegetarian options, it's no surprise that customers are highly rating Heaven Coffee Shop.

The business also now offers customers the chance to order via Just Eat, so there's no excuse not to enjoy their delicious menu in the comfort of your own home.

Owner Andy said their most popular food order is an English breakfast during the morning, tagliatelle with smoked salmon, spinach and garlic in the afternoon, followed by waffles and pancakes for dessert.

Cllr Nigel Williams, lead member for economy and regeneration, recently visited the premises and was very impressed with what he saw and heard.

He said: “Adam and Malgorzata wanted to create a small friendly home feeling so that people feel comfortable.

“They’ve even added a kids' corner which has been popular with parents and this comfortable homely feeling spills out of the doors and into the street, with outdoor seating areas.

“Adam and Malgorzata are a credit to our community and are helping to showcase Wrexham to our many local, regional and overseas visitors.

“With a strong friendly and supportive staff behind them they have managed to keep to the main aim of what they initially wanted to do, meeting every customer with a smile and treating them as family.

“I look forward to visiting again soon and wish them well for the future."

Owner Adam said: "We are really proud of the business that we have in Wrexham and enjoy serving customers
