CAMERON BELFORD has lifted the lid on the current plight at National League North strugglers Nuneaton Borough.
The former Wrexham stopper, currently Nuneaton skipper, has revealed the extent of the troubles at Boro, who are in desperate need of new ownership.
Nuneaton, managed by Nicky Eaden, have been on the market since May when former chairman Lee Thorn announced that he would be stepping down from the role and selling the club.
And Belford has decided to reveal what life is like at Liberty Way on social media.
He tweeted: "From what we understand there is no money for staff and players at the end of this month or the foreseeable future, so effectively we are continuing to give our all for this club with the uncertainty of not being paid for it.
"For everyone it's been difficult from day one and the signs have always been there! There has been no training kit, no training facilities, no hot water and constant talk of the money situation.
"The playing squad have also been told that it would be in their best interests to seek employment elsewhere for the good of themselves, their families and their long term future due to there being zero security coming from the club.
"We feel that we are building something special on the pitch, the lads and the staff have been in this together from the start and will continue to do so until the day comes where we are told otherwise.
"I have fond memories and a stronger connection than most with this club having been born and raised in the town and I certainly don't want this club to die!
"It's at a critical stage now and I hope somebody, or even better, a group of people can be found who can help save the club and the community as this town without this football club is a travesty.
"Football is more than just a game it's peoples' lives and passion. #UpTheBoro"
Ex-Wrexham playmaker Lee Fowler, who is assistant to Eaden, suggested the club is under a transfer embargo, but he and the manager will remain loyal for as long as possible with seven of Nuneaton's nine points coming in the last four matches.
He tweeted: "Another embargo again when it rains it pours hey. Really hope something can happen. The fans, the players, me, Nick deserve better this."
He followed that up by writing: "In times where me and @Eaden2 have been up against it and worked so hard the rumours are true we were asked to work out our notice before the Curzon game, 2 wins 1 draw l loss since #loyal"
A third former Wrexham player, Louis Moult, replied to the troubling news.
Preston striker Moult started his journey back up the pyramid under Kevin Wilkin at Nuneaton.
Moult tweeted: "Hope @NuneatonBoroFC can pull through, a great club that helped me get my career started #savetheboro"
Wilkin's current side, Brackley, were beaten 2-1 at Guiseley, joint managed by ex-Chester boss Marcus Bignot on Saturday.
Leaders Chorley were held 1-1 at Telford, who snatched a point as Henry Cowans cancelled out Josh Wilson's opener in the 93rd minute.
Second placed Kidderminster won 2-1 at Bradford PA to close the gap to the leaders to five points, while Simon Heslop scored a stunning winner as York City won by the same scoreline at Southport.
Darlington were also 2-1 winners as they beat FC United of Manchester, while Altrincham won 3-1 against Alfreton and Curzon left Leamington with a 1-0 success.
Spennymoor thumped Ashton 5-0, Boston beat Blyth Spartans 4-0 and Stockport and Hereford drew 1-1.
