Wrexham's final home game of a poor season ended in a 1-0 defeat against Dagenham and Redbridge.

Despite ending a seven game run without a win by beating York City in the previous outing, Wrexham were unable to make it back to back wins as they produced a disappointing performance against the Daggers.

Victory clinched Dagenham a play-off spot, something Wrexham will hope to emulate - or better - after manager Dean Keates revamps the squad this summer.

Dagenham took the lead in the 23rd minute.

Jordan Maguire-Drew sent in a cross from the left and Paul Benson planted his header past Reds goalkeeper Shwan Jalal.

Corey Whitely went close to extending Dagenham's lead on three occasions in the second half, substitute Izale McLeod going closest for Wrexham put he put his header wide from Iffy Allen's cross.

Wrexham (4-4-2): Jalal; Carrington, Marx, Riley (Shenton 46), Jennings (McLeod 73); Barry, Penn, Rutherford, Smith (Allen 62); White, Massanka. Subs not used: Dunn, Evans.
