GRIEVING parents from Wrexham are hosting a special fundraising event on the due date of their premature son who sadly passed away.

Tim Jones from Coedpoeth and partner Zoe from Yorkshire sadly lost their precious son, Jackson, in January this year.

Jackson was due to be born on May 25 which should have been an exciting time for their families.

The couple found out they were expecting in September last year and were "over the moon". They had experienced a positive and straight-forward pregnancy and found out it would be a boy at Christmas, deciding then to call him Jackson.

However, in late January, the pair attended hospital after Zoe, 23-weeks-pregnant, had experienced some bleeding. The next day, she gave birth to their son, weighing just 1lb 5oz.

Despite the paramedics working incredibly hard to save him, Tim said "he was just too little and he passed away shortly after he was born."

Despite it being an incredibly tough time, Zoe and Tim want to do something on Jackson's due date in memory of their son and agreed raising money for charity would turn what should be a sad day in to something positive. See Jackson's fundraiser here.

Deciding on a 'Pool Tournament' the fundraiser will take place at The Bents (Red Lion) in Coedpoeth, Wrexham on Saturday, May 25.

There will be plenty of food for the players, live music and a raffle with fantastic prizes.

Tim said: "As a family we are determined to carry on Jackson's legacy and ensure his name lives on.

"All money raised is going towards Sands, a charity close to our hearts, to support other families in a similar position to us.

"We will continue to fundraise in Jacksons name for the various charities who have helped us during this difficult time and we will never stop fighting to get justice for our son.

"We hope you can all join us in remembering our little boy on what should have been his due date."

Entry will be £5 on the night with a £30 bar tab for the winner. Games will commence from 9.30pm.
