A STRETCH of main road near Deeside is set for a four-month overnight closure.
The A550 Welsh Road will be closed from the A494 junction to Two Mills traffic lights overnight from April 22 to July 18.
The closure is for roadworks, and will be in effect from 9pm until 5am.
The scheme is a route safety improvement scheme, consisting of the following works:
- Public right of way access improvements
- New footway installation
- New safety barrier installation
- New lighting incorporating LED luminaires.
- Installation of 2 new lighting feeder pillars.
- Installation of 12 new speed enforcement sites and removal of old cameras.
- Removal of non-illuminated and illuminated traffic signs and Installation of new non-illuminated and illuminated traffic signs.
- Cabling and associated ducting/chamber infrastructure.
- Maintenance access footways, platforms.
- Removal of ash die back trees
- Landscape planting to offset vegetation loss
A signed diversion will be in place and will be via the A road routes east of the A550 (A540, A41, A5117 and A494).
The northern section of the A550 from Two Mills to the A41 will then close overnight from July 17 to August 18 for similar works.
