A rescue team came to the aid of an injured walker this weekend.

North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR) revealed details of the incident on Sunday morning.

A spokesman explained: "The team were called out by the Welsh Ambulance Service on Saturday afternoon to a person who had been pulled over by their dogs on the Wales Coast Path and sustained a serious knee injury.

The Leader: NEWSARNEWSAR (Image: NEWSAR)"The team administered pain relief, packaged and stretchered the casualty 1km to the road for onward travel in a land ambulance to the hospital.

NEWSAR (Mountain Rescue) is a non-profit organisation that relies solely on donations made by members of the public.

The team of volunteers is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year responding to those in need throughout Flintshire, Denbighshire, Wrexham  and parts of Conwy and Powys.
