FIRE CREWS attended the scene of a blaze at a Wrexham recycling centre earlier today (March 18).
A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the call was received at 8.45am to attend the Bryn Lane site.
Three appliances from Wrexham and one from Johnstown attended the scene and incident went on for a number of hours.
Residents were advised to stay away from the scene but luckily nobody is believed to have been injured during the fire.
A North Wales Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "Three crews from Wrexham, one crew from Johnstown, one crew from Deeside and one crew from Chirk remain in attendance tackling the fire at the recycling centre on Bryn Lane, Wrexham – please keep away from the area while we tackle the fire. The initial call was received at 8:45am this morning."

Wrexham Council confirmed that the recycling centre is 'open as usual' following the incident.
A council spokesperson said: "We can confirm that there was a fire this morning contained to one area of the Bryn Lane site. No personnel were involved and there were no injuries.
"North Wales Fire and Rescue service are in attendance, and the fire is contained to one small area. Our household recycling centre is open as usual.
"Arrangements to accommodate all waste collections are in hand and we expect little or no disruption to today’s collections. However, our refuse vehicles will be slightly delayed when they attend site to dispose of waste."
Bryn Lane opened in 2005 and is the largest of the three Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) in Wrexham.
It is a split level site and allows the public access to the upper level only with contractors operating on the lower work area.
