THE owner of a caravan has been left devastated after it was destroyed by fire.

The fire occurred on River View in Connah's Quay on Tuesday, March 5.

North Wales Fire Service attended the scene and reported the incident to North Wales Police following suspicion it was started deliberately.

A spokesperson from North Wales Fire said: "We were called to this incident at 18.17hrs.

"One fire appliance attended. Two sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reel jet were used by firefighters in dealing with the incident.

"The fire affected touring caravan and adjacent fencing panels. Suspected deliberate ignition and police informed."

A spokesperson from North Wales Police said: "At 6.46pm on Tuesday, March 5th, we received a call from colleagues at North Wales Fire and Rescue Service reporting a caravan was on fire in the area of River View, Connah’s Quay."

"The fire is suspected to have been a deliberate ignition.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101, or via the website, using reference number 24000229567"

Lisa Jones Kirner who owns the caravan is devastated by the fire which has left it completely destroyed.

Her son Damion Jones said: "She's doing okay now. There's nothing we can do apart from find out who did it.

"It got completely burnt to the ground. All that's left in one piece from the fire is the sink."

Thankfully, nobody was injured but the caravan suffered complete fire and smoke damage.

North Wales Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the incident.
