Firefighters remain at the scene of a blaze in Gresford, it has been confirmed.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call just after 7.10am on Thursday morning reporting a fire in the open at Pant Lane, in the Maes Y Pant woodland.
One crew from Wrexham attended the scene.
A spokesman said the crew used beaters and a water backpack to extinguish the blaze, which involved 20 square metres of woodland vegetation.
Although the flames are out, the crew remained at the scene as of 8.30am.
The cause is not yet known.
