A COMMUNITY is once again showing off its blooming wonderful flower displays at an annual garden competition.

Mold Town Council’s launched their annual garden competition ‘Blooming Mold’ at the start of July and once again the competition is being held online.

July’s competition attracted 18 floral entries with delightful photos of wonderful mature gardens, colourful baskets, bee friendly areas and.

The Blooming Mold judges, Mayor of Mold Councillor Sarah Taylor, Deputy Mayor Councillor Haydn Jones and Mold Gardening Club representative Graham Wright awarded Philip Clark’s entry of his small but beautiful back yard, decorated with numerous floral baskets July’s winner.

The judges commented that Philip had made the most of a small space, so colourful and assume fragrant, ‘lots of work has gone into keeping those flowers blooming’.

Philip won £25 worth of Totally Mold vouchers which will be released in October once the competition closes.

August’s Blooming Mold competition is now open to all Mold residents, businesses, organisations and groups.

To enter this year’s Blooming Mold competition organisers are asking you to submit a photograph for judging. Photograph subject can be anything floral/garden related which has been taken in your garden, backyard or place of work (within Mold); whether it be a shrub or floral planter, herb garden, building an insect house, perfecting a wildflower area or maintaining your veg plot, the judges look forward to viewing them (online) and all entries will be shown on the Mold Town Council facebook page.

August competition closes on 28 August and once again the monthly winner will win £25 worth of Totally Mold vouchers. There will be a monthly winner in July, August and September and at the end of the three monthly competitions, an overall winner will be chosen by the Judges and awarded £100 worth of Totally Mold vouchers

Jane Evans Mold Town Council Events & Community Engagement Officer said: "This year’s prizes will once again be Totally Mold vouchers, which were a great success last year.

"The aim of Totally Mold vouchers is to help boost our local economy but also to highlight what a fantastic range of shops and services there is in Mold. The message to our community is, look at what Mold has to offer before taking your custom outside of the town.

"All current Totally Mold vouchers are valid until 31 August, 2021 and our Blooming Mold winners will receive their prize vouchers in October when we relaunch the scheme with vouchers valid until 2022.”

Entering Blooming Mold is quick and easy, just submit one photograph taken in your garden in August 2021 and send it to Mold Town Council before the month’s deadline. You can submit a maximum of one different photograph for each month.

The September competition will open from 1 to 28 September
