DOZENS of scarecrows have brought much-needed lockdown cheer in an area of Wrexham.
The likes of Batman, Paddintgon Bear, Bob the Builder, Daleks and the Gruffalo have sprung up in the village.
It all forms part of the Rossett Scarecrow Festival, which also incorporates the nearby areas of Trevalyn and Burton.
Over 50 entries have been submitted, with judges having whittled the finalists down to nine.
These are the The Cat In The Hat, The Gruffalo, Spongebob Squarepants, Mr McGregor's Garden, Tractor Ted, Mad Hatter's Tea Party, Little Paddington, Little Red Riding Hood and the 'Tyred' Dalek'.
The winner will now be decided by a public vote, with the winner announced on St David's Day, with each of the finalists receiving a £20 book voucher.
Rossett Community Council said it has help lift the lockdown mood, giving residents a fun activity to do.
Local residents took to social media to praise the competition.
One resident said: "Well done everyone. I’ve got the biggest smile on my face for the first time in ages. Can’t wait to walk the scarecrow trail. Best I’ve ever seen."
Another added: "They're all absolutely brilliant - it's certainly made me feel better seeing all these amazing scarecrows dotted around the village."
