A MAN'S body has been recovered after a major search operation in North Wales.
Following the earlier search of the river in Abergwyngregyn, near Aber Falls in Gwynedd, last night, North Wales Police confirmed that a body of a man has sadly been recovered from the water.
Shortly before 4pm on Tuesday, October 6, North Wales Police were informed that a man had fallen into the river.
The emergency services attended including the Coastguard and members of the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team and a search began.
Sadly, just before 7.15pm the body of a man was recovered from the water.
The man’s next of kin have been informed.
Detective Chief Inspector Alun Oldfield, North Wales Police said: “Our heartfelt sympathies are with the man’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. They will now be supported by a trained Family Liaison Officer.
“An investigation is now underway to establish what happened, and as such we are unable to make any further comment.”
