MOTORISTS faced heavy congestion following a pair of incident on the A55 in Flintshire.
Traffic Wales confirmed shortly before 8am on Tuesday that one lane of the A55 between junction 32 (Holywell) and 31 (Caerwys) westbound was blocked due to a collision.
A spokesman for The Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed a call was received relating to the collision but an ambulance was eventually not required as the incident was dealt with by North Wales Police.
Traffic Wales then stated that just after 9am another incident closed a lane on the A55 westbound between junction 32 Dolphin (Holywell) and 31 (Caerwys).
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service had been called to the second incident near, which was reported as a fire involving a van or 'small lorry'.
The fire service stated that the blaze was reported shortly after 8.31 and two crews attended the scene - one each from Holywell and Rhyl.

Firefighters used a pair of hose reel jets and a set of breathing apparatus to bring the incident to an end by 9.15am.
A spokesman for the service told the Leader 90 per cent fire damage was caused to the vehicle and nobody was injured.
The cause of the blaze was recorded as 'unknown'.
