Police appeal for witnesses after A483 Chirk crash

POLICE have appealed for witnesses following a serious road accident last night on the A483.

Two casualties were reported following the crash involving a car and a lorry which happened near the Halton roundabout near Chirk shortly before 6.15pm.

A section of the A483 between Chirk and Ruabon was expected to remain closed overnight in both sections.

A police appeal for information was released at 7.55pm while emergency services were still at the scene.

“Police are appealing for information and witnesses following a serious collision this evening on the A483 involving two vehicles - a car and a heavy goods vehicle.

“Officers were alerted at 6.13pm to the collision which happened on the A483 between the Halton roundabout and a junction with Ruabon.

A spokesman for the ambulance service reported two casualties, one from each vehicle. The lorry driver was treated at the scene.

No information was released concerning the condition of the second casualty.

The spokesman said crews were called at about 6.15pm to a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a car and a lorry on the A483 near McDonald’s roundabout, near Chirk.

“We dispatched one emergency ambulance, and West Midlands Ambulance Service also assisted with a vehicle.”

The fire service was also in attendance.
