LIBBY MACKENZIE says Wrexham Women will “go far” with the quality that’s on show in the squad.
The Reds booked their spot in the semi-finals of the Welsh Cup thanks to Sunday’s 2-0 triumph over Briton Ferry Llansawel, with Mackenzie coming off the bench to grab the key second goal with 20 minutes left.
She told the club’s YouTube channel: “We’ve definitely got a great squad.
“We’ve got young ones coming through.
“We’ve got older, experienced players who really help the team out.
“I think we’ve got a really good team and we’ll go far.”
Following a goalless first half in a repeat of last season’s promotion play-off, Rosie Hughes nudged the Reds into the lead early in the second half.
Pictured above, Carra Jones, who supplied the assist for Mackenzie’s strike, added: “It’s really good to get to the last-four.
“Obviously, we’ve said that we want to get as far as we can in all competitions and the league.
“So, for us, it’s another step in the right direction, but also going off the back of a loss against Swansea, I think it’s really important that we got the win today.”
