WREXHAM Police FC are set to take on Andy's Man Club to fundraise for men's mental health.

On Sunday, May 12 at Airbus Broughton, Flintshire, the off-duty police officers will once again be taking to the pitch in their latest charity match.

Playing against Andy's Man Club, a local charity raising much-needed awareness for men's mental health, all proceeds will go towards peer support groups to reduce male suicide.

The charity offers free groups across the UK and online in an attempt to aid men through the power of conversation.

Kick off is at 3pm and donations can be taken on the gate as well as online. See the Just Giving page here.

Founder of Wrexham Police FC Sgt Dave Smith said: "Together with Andy’s Man Club we would like to help end the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.

"Suicide is the biggest cause of death in men under 50. Men often feel embarrassed and ashamed to talk about their feelings.

"We encourage people to come to the game, to stand together on the terraces to reassure those that are going through a difficult time that they’re not alone.

"We also hope to raise money to donate to Andy’s Man Club to help them continue their incredible work."
