THE team at a North Wales animal rescue centre is looking for new homes for their adorable residents.

North Clwyd Animal Rescue (NCAR) have cats, dogs, horses and some smaller animals, all hoping to find their forever home.

The staff and volunteers at the Trelogan-based charity, in Flintshire, know the animals as individuals, and therefore know what kind of home they are more likely to thrive in.

Whether it's a dog, cat, rabbit or horse, staff are on hand to advise on the character and suitability of each.

They also make sure potential new owners are aware of the ongoing costs of a pet, including food and vet bills, which can often be for unexpected treatment.

But thankfully there are plenty of responsible, loving people and families looking to give an animal a loving new home.

And there are always animals of all types, ages and needs that will be the perfect match.

Here we meet just some of those at NCAR looking for a new home...

• For more details, please visit ncar.org.uk or if you would like to support the charity without adopting, you can visit their cafe, open from 10.30am to 3.30pm. They also accept donations at the centre between 10am and 4pm.

You can also help by fundraising, sponsoring a kennel or supporting one of the NCAR charity shops in the region.

Hoping for adoption at NCAR - Ambrose

Hoping for adoption at NCAR - Ambrose

• Ambrose is a lovely lad who came into care as a stray and no one came forward to claim him, and due to this have no background information on him. He loves a good run around in the paddocks at NCAR and is very fast. He has met a variety of dogs since being with them and does seem to get on okay after correct introductions but has reacted negatively to some dogs. We feel he does have the potential to live with a compatible dog. He can be homed with sensible children 12+. Ambrose is looking for a home with owners who will put in the time and effort with his training and socialisation. He is looking for a home where he will not be left for long hours as we are unsure on his capability being left time-wise due to lack of information on him, plus he adores being around people! He would require a secure garden with at least six foot fencing as he is a bouncy boy. He cannot be homed with cats or small furries due to showing signs of a prey drive, typical of his breed. We are sure he will appeal to sight hound lovers.

Hoping for adoption at NCAR - Bravo

Hoping for adoption at NCAR - Bravo

• Bravo is a cheeky little lad who came into our care after being found as a stray. He did have a wound on his back on arrival which is healing well now. He is a confident boy who is very friendly, needy, greedy and cute! He has a cheeky character and is sure to make his new owners laugh. Bravo is looking for a home with children aged 8+. He can potentially be rehomed with another friendly cat as long as slow, sensible introductions can be done. He is looking for a home with a good outdoor space for him to explore once he has settled in.

Hoping for adoption at NCAR - Ginny

Hoping for adoption at NCAR - Ginny

• Ginny is a really lovely girl who was signed over to us along with her daughter Maggie due to a relationship breakdown. Ginny and Maggie are very bonded. We would love it if they could find a home where they can stay together, but we are also open to splitting them if we deem this is in their best interest. She is a friendly girl who loves to be out and about walking and exploring, she is looking for an active home where she will be taken on plenty of adventures! She also loves playing with toys and would do this all day if she could. Ginny can be homed with sensible children 10+. She can be very strong on lead so any new owners will need to be willing to work with her in this area, we have made a start on this and all advice and support will be given. Ginny can be quite unsure of other dogs, she is happy to walk alongside them but sometimes panics when they approach her. We will continue to test her in this area but for now she is either looking for a home with her daughter Maggie, or as the only dog in the home. She is ideally looking for a home where she won't be left for long hours as she is a really loving girl who craves company.

Hoping for adoption at NCAR - Mishka

Hoping for adoption at NCAR - Mishka

• Mishka has returned to us after 10 years as her owner has moved into residential care. Mishka is a beautiful cat who also has a very affectionate nature. She will be good company for an older person in a quiet adult home, but once settled should be fine with visiting children. She would like to be the only pet in the house. She has been used to going outside so would like a garden in a quiet area with no fast or busy traffic. Could you offer Mishka a lap to curl up on, plenty of strokes and a general everyday chat about life?

Hoping for adoption at NCAR - Pablo

Hoping for adoption at NCAR - Pablo

• Pablo is a sweet boy who came into our care as a stray, unfortunately he wasn't claimed so he is now looking for his forever home. He is a lovely boy who has taken quite a bit of time to come out his shell, he was very bewildered when he first arrived. He absolutely loves running around the secure paddocks here at NCAR and trying to sit on your knee! He can be unsure of some new people, he is easily won around with treats but is much more comfortable when he is allowed to approach people in his own time, we will continue to assess this but he is currently looking for a home with sensible and confident teenagers 14+. Pablo can be quite vocal towards other dogs at times but can be distracted with treats. We will be working on his socialisation during his stay with us but for now he is looking for a home as the only pet. He has shown some signs of a prey drive towards birds, he likes to stop and watch them and it isn't always easy to break his focus.

Hoping for adoption at NCAR - Baby

Hoping for adoption at NCAR - Baby

• Baby is a handsome lad who came into our care due to financial reasons. He was very nervous at first but has now come out of his shell and is showing his loving and affectionate side. In his previous home he was out and about quite a lot and was quite independent, so we definitely feel he needs to go to a home with a good outdoor area so he can explore safely and keep himself entertained. He is a low-maintenance lad who is no trouble to care for. Baby is looking for a home as the only pet and without children as he has only ever lived with one adult. We really hope a home comes along soon for this lad as he is so lovely.
